Halloween is the perfect time of year to celebrate your favorite television characters.

The holiday is fast-approaching, and if you're in desperate need of costume inspiration we've got you covered. Rather than opting for another classic, predictable last-minute getup, try getting creative and recreating a look from one of the many outstanding TV shows that have aired in 2019.

From bold and fun fashions of quirky comedic characters in Schitt's Creek and Superstoreto the dramatic, more serious wardrobe sported by the characters in Succession, here are 13 shows from 2019 that have Big Halloween Costume Energy.

1. The Rose family

In addition to being a deeply hilarious and brilliant show, Schitt's Creekalso offers phenomenal costume ideas in every episode. Dressing as the Rose family is a stellar group costume idea, but the individual main characters — along with supporting characters like Roland, Stevie, Ted, and more — each have their own iconic sense of style.

Grab some chic clothes, put on a statement hat, and practice saying "ew, David," to pass as Alexis. Assume the role of Johnny Rose with some gel in your hair and a nice blazer. Dress in all black —sweatshirt, rolled pants, and high tops — and put some rings on your fingers to pull a David. And grab your most grandiose garments and a wig to successfully impersonate Moira.

Schitt's Creekand VSP Consignments in Toronto recently announced they're selling cast's wardrobe for charity, so you can soon check out select pieces to get more ideas.

2. The whole cast of Fleabag

You can be anyone from Fleabag for Halloween, but Fleabag and Hot Priest deserve to be the couple costume of the year. The power of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's black jumpsuit shook people to their cores, and Andrew Scott's portrayal of a priest made viewers commit one of the seven deadly sins. (LUST, of course.) Honor them!

3. The Roy family

Successionis the HBO show about a financially wealthy, morally bankrupt media family that people can't seem to stop talking about in 2019, which makes it an ideal and timely costume opportunity.

The Roys — Logan, Shiv, Roman, Kendall, the other brother, ugh there are so damn many of them — are usually dressed to impress, as shown above. You could easily throw on a blazer, suit, or some high-waisted pants and a silk blouse and say you're a member of the immediate fam, or dress as Cousin Greg if you want to come across as remotely likable.

You could also dress as Kendall rapping (gross,) or if you're looking to put in less effort you could wear any sweater or a signature logo-less baseball cap and call it a day. Dressing as a Succession character also gives you an excuse to blast the extremely catchy, Emmy-winning theme song out of a boom box all night.

4. Midge Maisel and friends

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is full of marvelous 1950s fashions that are sure to impress on Halloween. You can easily dress as Midge, a fashion icon, by investing in a cute statement hat, dress, long coat, and perhaps some pearls or gloves. Maybe you can even carry around a mic and try your hand at standup.

If a Midge costume isn't your style, Susie, Abe, Lenny Bruce, or the plethora of other supporting characters will also make gorgeous costumes.

5. A Cloud 9employee

Superstorecostumes are both hilarious andsuper simple. All you really need is to recreate one of the employee's signature blue Cloud 9 vests and add a name tag. You can even splurge on a blue blazer and dress as a store manager if you're really feeling ambitious. Cloud 9 employee costumes are also great for a fun, semi-dysfunctional group of people.

6. A resident of Riverdale

There's a Riverdalecostume out there for everyone. You can rock preppy clothes and a high ponytail as Betty, a skater skirt and fancy collared shirt as Veronica, some cat ears and a stage-ready outfit as Josie, or a beanie and leather jacket as Jughead.

The costumes on Riverdaleare fairly normal-looking, so they'll be easy to recreate, but if you're in the mood to buy a pre-made costume you're in luck, too. Riverdale-themed cheerleading costumes, Archie's varsity jacket, and more are available online. (Hot Topic is reallyexcited about a RiverdaleHalloween.)

7. Someone from I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson

If you're looking for an extra funny costume, turn to the delightful Netflix comedy special, I Think You Should Leave, for inspiration. Tim Robinson and his co-stars offer a lot of material to work with, but off the top of my head Robinson in a hot dog costume, the old dude from the "Focus Group" sketch, or someone wearing a TC Tuggers shirt would make beautiful costumes.

8. Nadia from Russian Doll

Halloween, what a concept! Nadia from Russian Dollwas one of the year's greatest new characters and she deserves be represented on this day of costume tributes. Obtain a curly red wig and binge the 8 episode in Season 1 to see which of her outfits speaks to you the most.

9. Selina Meyer and Gary from Veep

Veep ended this year and even though the finale was utterly ruthless, it deserves one final sendoff in the form of a Halloween costume.

If you have some presidential attire in your closet, like a dress and heels, or perhaps a pencil skirt or pantsuit, you can easily pass as Selena. Then find a "Gary" to throw on a suit and tie, carry a bag of some sort, and whisper facts about people you're speaking to in your ear all night. They were a real pre-series finale dynamic duo, weren't they?

10. Any of the women from GLOW

Any of the ladies from GLOWwould make outstanding costumes, as the show's wardrobe is absolute fire. Simply choose your fighter — er, wrestler — obtain a spandex leotard, funky makeup, a wild hairstyle, and other bold accessories like tool, ribbon, and maybe a scrunchie or two, and you're good to go! So many possibilities, but worth noting as a costume that like, maybe don't dress up as Fortune Cookie or Beirut the Mad Bomber.

11. BoJack Horseman of BoJack Horseman

Mashable ImageTo be BoJack Horseman all you need is a mask.Credit: netflix

If you're not in the mood to try very hard and don't even care if anyone sees your face on Halloween, BoJack Horseman is the TV character for you. Simply purchase a horse mask (they even have BoJack-specific ones) and wear a shirt, tie, and jacket. Easy!

12. Sabrina from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

If you want to wear cute clothes this Halloween but also dress as a badass, Sabrina from Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrinais an excellent costume choice. She wears stylish clothes, sports a classy red lip, platinum bob, and a variety of headbands. She also has magical powers, which she uses to casually fight demons, evil forces, and save humans from the devil. She embodies the true Halloween spirit.

13. The Brooklyn Nine-Ninesquad

If there's one show out there that knows how to celebrate Halloween it's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The comedy is known for its traditional Halloween Heist episodes, which show the members of the 99th precinct competing against each other (in costume, of course) to steal an object.

If you don't want to dress as Jake Peralta in a plaid shirt, skinny tie, leather jacket, and police badge on a chain, or copy one of the other officer's everyday looks, we highly suggest you watch the Halloween episodes, which are jam-packed with clever costumes that you can recreate.

Happy Halloween, TV lovers.
